5D MOUNT RINJANI CLIMB

Day 1

LOMBOK AIRPORT - SEMBALUN

  • Meet and greet at the airport

  • Transfer to you accommodation (homestay/guesthouse) and check in

Itinerary

Day 2

SEMBALUN - CRATER RIM

  • Breakfast at homestay

  • Pick up at 630am and transfer to starting point

  • Register at Rinjani Information Centre in Sembalun Lawag with your mountain guide / porters

  • Begin you gentle ascent walking through open grassland to Pos 1 Pemantauan (1,300m) rest and enjoy the summit views of Mt. Rinjani from here.

  • After rest onto Pos 2 Tengengean (1,500 m) about 1 hour walk up from Pos 1 Pemantuan than on another 1,5 hours to Pos 3 Pada Balong (1,800 m), reach this point around 1 pm. 

  • Rest and Lunch , After lunch continue the trek up to Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m), this is the 3,5 hours climb amidst the pine-like Casuarinas species locally known as Cemara, perhaps seeing evidence of wild pigs and the long-tailed grey macaque monkeys along the trek to the camp site at Plawangan Sembalun (Sembalun crater rim 2,639 m).

  • Reach the camp site around 5pm, set up the tent and enjoy the views of the crater rim.

  • Dinner served at the camp site, rest and preparing your self to early wake up for the trek to the Summit on the following day.

Day 3

CRATER RIM - SUMMIT - SEGARA ANAK LAKE 

  • Wake up early morning and start the trek at 03:00 AM to the summit (3,726 m), a hard trek trail on volcanic screens, some part are steep and loose sands. It takes around 3 hours to reach the summit. Once there, enjoy proud feelings of satisfaction and the amazing sunrise views across the Wallace Line to Bali, Mt. Agung and Sumbawa.

  • Stay at the summit 30 minutes to 1 hour to enjoy the views around and than going down to the campsite Sembalun crater rim through same route. After breakfast, proceed to go down to the lake (Segara Anak Lake, 2000m). It takes two to three hours walk down through the steep trail to the crater's lake. Enjoy the lake, swimming and exploring the pilgrimage hot springs, believed to have healing powers, while your porters preparing for  lunch.

  • Enjoy the Lake till time for  dinner  and camp site in the lake positions

Day 4

 SEGARA ANAK LAKE - SENARU CRATER RIM - SENARU VILLAGE

  • ·After  breakfast, leave the lake and trek up to Plawangan Senaru (Senaru Crater Rim 2,461 m) it takes 2 - 3 hours trek up to crater rim senaru, upon arrive in crater rim senaru enjoy the views around and the lake from the other side.

  • Afterward prefer to descend one hour to Cemara Lima and from Cemara Lima descend down the long trail to Senaru village (601 m), through thick tropical forests rich in flora, bird life and a variety of butterflies.

  • You might see orchid and, if lucky, the rare black ebony leaf monkey, known locally as lutung. Rest stop are taken along the way. Lunch served en route.  

  • After seven hours walk from the rim, the trek ends at Rinjani Trek Center at the road head in Senaru, than continued to Senggigi  for check in at Kila Senggigi Resort.

Day 5

 AIRPORT TRANSFER

  • After check out from your hotel our team will pick up you and escorted you to Lombok Airport catch your connecting flight. End of program.(B,-,-)

Checklist -Pack Light but Pack Right

  • 2 bags: a day pack with two shoulder straps to carry the things you will use on the mountain (water included) & also a “gym” bag to keep the rest of your belongings for your after-climb activities.

    • Pack all your things INSIDE your bag, nothing should be left dangling outside of it.

    • Load the heavier stuff at the bottom of the bag and the lighter stuff on top.

    • Porters are available at the park HQ if you wish to hire them.

  • Ziplocs & trash bags                                To keep your travel documents &  electronic devices  dry

  • Torchlight/ Headlamp                              Keep hands free during summit climb (extra batteries!!)

  • Windproof Rainwear                                Rain & Wind protection
